The Morongo Basin Life Drawing League, founded in 2007, meets weekly at the beautiful Joshua Tree Retreat Center.. The collective exhibit represents artists from a variety of backgrounds, including the arts, medicine, education, physics, and literature.

All share a common interest in the classical discipline of drawing the human figure. League goals include creating life drawing opportunities in the community, encouraging professional and beginning artists, and fostering the arts in the Morongo Basin. Founder and facilitator, Janis Commentz, is a visual artist and teacher in the Morongo Basin.

The entrance is ½ mile east of Mesa Rd/ La Contenta Road on Hwy. 62.  Upon entering the center, follow the dirt road and signs to the right and then left to Friendship Hall.
