Tammy Sioux Parkhouse
began her career as an artist making patterns and sewing when she was ten.

After high school she received a scholarship to Art Center College of Design, and while working toward her degree, opened a custom sewing shop and swimwear catalogue featured in “Wet Magazine.”

She studied fashion illustration and received a degree in fashion design from LA Trade Tech. From her Hollywood studio she produced children’s swimwear, guitar straps and clothing featured at Fred Segal, Guitar Center and Let it Rock on Melrose and designed custom guitar straps and clothes for Prince, Sammy Hagar, The Go-Gos, The Cars and Wall of Voodoo.

Tammy migrated from the LA art scene to San Pedro where she began creating ceramics, wood sculpture, custom leather work, and soft sculpture for an array of southern California galleries. Commissioned by Cloud Nine Production and Holliday Creations she created dolls from first sketch through production samples and worked on costumes for the live X-Men show for Universal Studios.

Tammy currently lives and works out of her Joshua Tree studio in the highlands where she has returned to her roots creating a work/living environment where she makes original assemblage signs and continues her custom design services.
