Michael Smiley
is known for his stone and metal sculptures as well as his silver and stone jewelry creations.

Smiley’s expressive sculptures are primarily created from alabaster, limestone, steel and copper. From small tabletop sculpture to large garden sculpture and always concerned with nature and the touchable texture of each piece. His jewelry is a continuation of his sculpture, featuring custom designed pieces using silver, gold, precious and semi-precious stone, and found fossils or stones that he has unearthed in the desert.

Smiley has exhibited widely in the Morongo basin over the past two decades, and participates each year in the Joshua Tree National Park Art Festival and the Morongo Basin Open Studio Art Tours. His works have been collected both nationally and internationally.
