CHRISTY ANDERSON JUDY WISHART
0Lucky, Mixed media

Many know her as the "license plate lady," but there's more to Christy Anderson's art than just her license plate signs. Anderson is a native of the desert. She has been an artist for 15 years. Before becoming an artist, Anderson ran heavy equipment. She remembers digging up all kinds of amazing things at a dump site. Finally, she could not resist the lure of picking up some of these treasures and making them into something else.

0Acrylic on recycled Bowling Balls

Judy Wishart started painting bowling balls after attending a Lakota sweat lodge. The next morning while in a thrift store, she saw a bowling ball and a face appeared to her. Wisart enjoys seeing the reactions and smiles from people when they see the transformation of these bowling bowls into a colorful work of art. Each ball now serves a renewed purpose after many trips down the lane.

Recently Wishart has begun exploring other mediums such as Religious figures and Day of the Dead.

"Every piece has a story to tell. No two alike, each as individual as a fingerprint, some with the previous owners name still etched on them."

-Judy Wisart
