A long-time desert resident, Karen Caygill has a passion for clay – wedging, throwing, glazing, firing – all the steps from initial idea to tangible expression. Karen studied ceramics with Ron Evans at College of the Desert, and was inspired to establish her own studio.

Glaze formulas in the studio are based on a lead-free borax frit, are made from non-toxic ingredients, and applied to earthenware clay. Low temperature firings result in unique functional and non-functional works in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors.
