Artist Nora Lousignont has been based in Yucca Valley since the year 2000. The living form is the focus of much of her work which often reflects her growing attachment to the desert.

While she has always loved creating, she did not actively pursue her passion until much later in life. Instead, she earned a BS (University of Central Florida) and MS (University of Notre Dame) in Mathematics. In 1989, she began studying art at UCLA. Later she continued her studies as the University of Hawaii, Kapiolani, and the Hui No ‘Eau on Maui.

Her work has been exhibited on the island of Oahu and on Maui. She has had two solo exhibitions at the 29 Palms Gallery located in 29 Palms, CA.

John Lauretig has crocheted over 100 hats, mostly in wool.  Many of John's wool hats are felted, which is a process where the wool hat is washed in hot water to shrink the wool fiber and make it more dense.  Lauretig also uses acrylic, nylon and ribbon in this new collection.
